The City of York

If you're one of our fabulous guests who are travelling from far and wide, you may want to make the most out of our wedding day and spend a little time in the city of York! It will be Christmas after all, and Christmas shopping in York is lovely!
So if you're planning on making a trip of it, there's some definite must-see and do's across the city.

Sights to See and Do

York Minster
This place is one of the world's most magnificent cathedrals, and goes waaaay back in the country's history! It's definitely a beautiful sight to see.

Clifford's Tower
This place was originally built by William the Conqueror, and rebuilt by Henry III in the 13th century. It provides sweeping, panoramic views of York, too, so totally worth the climb up those steps!

Railway Museum
This is a fantastic and free day out that everyone will enjoy! Discover over 300 years of rail history in one place.

Castle Museum
Why not take a stroll down an authentically recreated Victorian Street?

Yorkshire Museum
If you're into archaeology and geology, then this is the place to visit during your trip to York. You'll grab a sight into the deep history of York.

The York Dungeon
We can't personally recommend this as we've never visited... But by the sounds of it, it's full of thrills and frights! As the adverts say, "delve into York's bloody history".

Christmas Shopping

York provides city-goers with a large array of shops and boutiques to explore! Which understandably, makes the city of York one of the most prime locations for Christmas shopping.
